Westman communities well represented by nominees for ‘Women of Distinction’ honours

Thirteen different communities in Western Manitoba are represented this year by those nominated as 2010 YWCA Women of Distinction.

The winners will be announced at the awards dinner Feb. 28.

Thirteen Brandonites are among the nominees. They include Holly Asham, Gemma Crouch, Isabel H.M. Cierrier, Verna DeMontigny, Marilyn Forsyth, Shauna Hewitt-Michta, Sue-On Hillman, Kim Iwasiuk, Lili Jardine, Darlene Paquette, Paige Rushton-McDougall, Ericka Serreno and Monica Truffyn.

Others nominated are Joyce Coulson of Sandy Lake; Wendy Flannigan of Rivers; Michelle Gerrard of Neepawa; Marion Masson of Oak Lake; Dianne Maydaniuk of Dauphin; Sharon McIntosh of Shilo; Bette Mueller of Manitou; Barbara Pettinger of Shoal Lake; Avis Stitt of Rossburn; Joan Taylor of Birtle; Lois Thomas of Hartney; and Amanda Hagan and Felicity Scott of Virden.
