Heckle:

People who have a handicap permit, drop the handicapped person at the door of a building then go and park in the handicapped parking spot. You are no better than those who park there with no valid handicap permit.

Heckle:

It is good to see the first snow of the season. Now we don't have to look at all the garbage piled up along Eighteenth Street against fences, hedges and strip mall parking lots.

Heckle:

Judges determining results of a recent talent show were biased. The winner couldn't even sing in tune and missed the words greatly. Be more real and be fair to all.

Heckle:

Most of the time I enjoy reading Mr. LoRegio's view of the world. I do, however, take exception to his comments about what they used to do and probably still do out on the farm. I do not think cats are disposable and don't deserve to be treated that way. Can farmers not afford to have their animals spayed or neutered? My daughter lives on a farm and her cats are all fixed, so she doesn't have to worry about overpopulation. I could not drown a cat and then live with my conscience.

Hurrah:

I was visiting the City of Brandon website and came across the spot to report burned out street lights. (Click on "Living in Brandon" and scroll down.) I reported two lights near my house that were constantly going off and on and before noon the next day, Manitoba Hydro employees were there changing the bulbs. Awesome service.

Heckle:

To all the people who criticize older drivers and have no patience with them. Take a moment to think about how you would get around town, to do your business, if you lost your licence and had to rely on others to get you from one place or another. Have some patience as you will become a senior citizen someday yourself, God willing.

Hurrah:

Kudos to Lady of the Lake for hosting a fundraiser for the Women's Shelter. The buffet was scrumptious and the band Pop-Korn was extraordinary. A great environment for a black-tie event.
