Friday workshop focuses on sport, physical activity, for women 55-70

A regional workshop focusing on sport and physical activity challenges for women between the ages of 55 and 70 will be held this Friday at the Brandon Provincial Building on Ninth Street.

Sponsored by the Brandon Regional Health Authority, the Active Living Coalition for Older Adults Manitoba (ALCOA) and the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS), the workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in room B8.

The purpose of this workshop is to present and discuss findings, tools and resources produced as part of a five-year national project (2005 to 2010) focused on increasing physical activity opportunities for women 55-70.  The useful information and concrete tools presented will assist in the development of sport and physical activity initiatives, policies and strategies for women 55 – 70.

If you would like to participate contact Tara Common at commont@brandonrha.mb.ca or phone 578-2196.
