QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Dangerous garbage pickup

I would like to thank the City of Brandon for picking up the large Items that were to be left on the boulevards in our area the evening of Wednesday, May 18, even though they were not picked up until May 26, a week late.

Then they were picked up by one man (that's right, one man), in a half-ton truck, who had to load (by himself), old deep freezers, refrigerators, heavy old wood, desks, etc. I guess, it would be too costly to hire some extra help, that were young and unemployed.

What I'd like to know is where were our so-called healthy and safety officers?

Thank goodness we have an election coming, as apparently our city administration, managers, supervisors and health and safety officers could not care less about our citizens or employees. Then maybe there will be some changes made and some positions may be re-assigned.

Our city administration seems to have millions of dollars for everything, except a few dollars, for some extra staff for a week, to help out.

Why?
