South West Cougars to hold tryouts

The South West Cougars start their 2010-2011 season with a conditioning and try out camp the weekend of Sept. 9 - 12 in Souris.

The Cougars then host one of the league’s pre-season tournaments from Sept. 23 to 26 with all the activities at the Murray Arena in Souris.

Cougars coaches Troy Leslie, Brad Vandenberghe and Brett Braybrook have returned and expect to have a strong nucleus of returning players from last year’s team. The Cougars have no less than 16 players eligible to return to the team.

The coaches expect the junior teams in Manitoba and Western Hockey League teams to vie for the services for a number of the younger players.
The Cougars will play their home opener on Oct. 1 against Kenora Thistles and play the Winnipeg Wild the following night.
