Senior Pioneers

President of the Board of Directors of Brandon Seniors for Seniors Co-op Inc., at left, Don Wrobleski presented Life Membership Certificates to, from left, Hazel Trollope, Glenora Slimmon, Peggy Tisdale and Evelyne Conley, honouring them for their pioneer work for Seniors for Seniors. Glenora, along with her husband Don, were founders of the organization which obtained its Co-op Charter in 1982 and has served as a model for other senior service organizations throughout Manitoba. Peggy Tisdale, Evelyne Conley and Hazel Trollope are the surviving members of the first board of directors. These ladies can be proud of the Seniors for Seniors organization which has continued and grown from a handful of members to more than to more than 200 members providing a wide range of services and programs designed to enable seniors of Brandon to remain independent, contributing members of the community.
