Open letter to Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety:
Once again algae blooms in both the North and South basins of Lake Winnipeg are causing concern for Manitobans worried about the future of Canada’s Sixth Great Lake.
What steps has your government taken to bring the various levels of government in the basin together to tackle the important problem of Lake Winnipeg’s deterioration?
As Public Safety Minister, you approved $2.1 million for the construction of an artificial lake in Toronto for a media photo opportunity.
To date, has the Conservative government spent as much on Lake Winnipeg?
