US Mideast peace envoy says Israel and Palestinians will hold a 2nd round of talks Sept 14-15

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's special envoy for Middle East peace says the leaders of Israel and the Palestinians concluded a productive first round of peace negotiations.

Former Sen. George Mitchell told reporters that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas agreed to convene a second round of talks Sept. 14-15 in the Middle East.

He also said they would meet every two weeks thereafter.
