Veteran CBC radio host Max Ferguson dead at age 89

TORONTO - Long-time CBC radio personality Max Ferguson has died at age 89.

Ferguson was best known for his programs "The Max Ferguson Show" and "Rawhide" in a career that spanned more than 50 years.

He also appeared in a number of other CBC programs on both radio and TV.

Ferguson received numerous accolades during his career, including being appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.

He retired in 1998.

CBC Television said Ferguson died Thursday of a heart attack.
