Picturesque Clear Lake Golf Course

Good news for golfers in Manitoba, as the Clear Lake Golf Course (CLGC), is up and running for the summer and wintered exceptionally well. The beautiful golf course is located in the Riding Mountain National Park at the East end of Clear Lake and is known as one of the most unique and picturesque courses in Manitoba.

“Greens are nearly perfect with very minimal winter kill,” shared Golf Course Superintendent Craig Atkinson. “Also our fairways have come through winter better than usual. We can attribute this to our over-seeding program. Golfers can expect premium spring season golf at The CLGC right now!”

With little change to the layout of the course, which spans 6,309 yards, golfers can expect the same excellent quality from the Clear Lake Golf Course. The one change that was made to the course was to improve mow-ability and playability by grinding over 50 stumps and planning places to plant new trees.

“Our two biggest tournaments remain to be the Grey Owl which is common up soon. The tournament runs from June 8-10. The Tamarack tournament is our biggest,” added Atkinson. “It runs from August 18-25 and features a match play design. It also has categories for all players from cubs to seniors and men’s and ladies! We also host many single day shotgun style group tournaments which the pro shop staff does a wonderful job of organizing!”

Last fall there was 12 pallets of sod laid, mostly where the golf carts drive, and it gets worn out, which is looking to be a success and improving the look of the overall course.

“Tuesday-Thursday this week we are $60 with a cart. Wednesday, May 30th is our Customer Appreciation Day. $25 for cart and green fee! Our morning rate went up $3 this season and afternoon rate is up $2 over last season.”

There are also weekly events throughout the summer, which include Family Nights on Sunday and Thursday – Adults, are $26 and juniors are free. There is also Junior Nights, which include a 20-minute lesson, a couple of holes, hot dog, and a pop. Tuesdays are Men’s Night - $15 for members and $25 for non-members. This summer there will also be a Ladies’ Night, with more details to be announced at a later date. On Friday’s and Saturday, there is evening golf, which starts at 6:30 p.m. and is $26 per person.
